I’ve just returned from Anilao in The Philippines. This place is a macro-muck divers delight bursting with brilliant critters in a diverse bath of colorful camouflage.

Besides from “Secret Bay” ;), the night diving at Anilao Pier stood out as a favorite, always pleasing me with a ridiculous range of mysterious marine species.

I had the pleasure to meet the Local Mayor in Batangas, Nilo M. Villanueva. In this video, I ask him about fishing, conservation and the local marine protected areas in the region.

Clearly, they are doing things right here and it’s a real example about how to do things for the rest of South East Asia. By supporting conservation and scuba diving tourism, the locals are really benefiting.
